Data Center Energy Meters manufacturers

Data center energy meters measure electricity consumption and electrical parameters at defined points in a data center power distribution system. Typical measurement locations include utility incomers, UPS inputs and outputs, distribution panels, PDUs, branch circuits and individual loads.

YTL provides single-phase and three-phase DIN-rail and panel-mounted energy meters for direct-connected and CT-operated applications. Depending on the model, meters can support high-refresh measurement and RS485/Modbus communication for integration with power monitoring, BMS or DCIM platforms.

Meter selection should be based on the measurement point, phase, system voltage, current range, direct or CT connection, accuracy, refresh rate, communication interface and target-market certification requirements.

Industry Knowledge Extension

What is a data center energy meter?

A data center energy meter measures electrical energy and power parameters at a defined point in the facility’s power distribution system, such as an incomer, UPS circuit, PDU, distribution panel or branch circuit.

Where are energy meters installed in a data center?

Meters may be installed at utility incomers, generator circuits, UPS inputs and outputs, PDUs, distribution panels, branch circuits or individual loads, depending on the required measurement boundary.

What is the difference between direct-connected and CT-operated meters?

A direct-connected meter carries the measured current through the meter. A CT-operated meter receives a secondary current signal from current transformers and is generally used for higher-current circuits.

Can YTL meters connect to BMS or DCIM platforms?

Selected models support communication interfaces such as RS485 and Modbus. Integration depends on the meter model, protocol configuration, gateway, software platform and register mapping.

Why is high-refresh measurement useful in data centers?

A faster measurement refresh rate can provide more timely visibility into load changes. Actual end-to-end update speed also depends on the communication network, gateway and monitoring software.

Is MID certification required for data center metering?

MID certification may be required for certain regulated billing applications in relevant markets. It is not automatically required for every internal monitoring application. Local regulations and the selected model’s certification scope should be verified.

Can one meter monitor both UPS and PDU systems?

A meter measures the electrical circuit at its installation point. Separate meters or measurement channels may be needed when UPS input, UPS output, PDU feeders and individual loads must be monitored independently.
