Can the electric meter of the new energy vehicle charging pile be connected to the household electricity?

Under certain conditions, the EV Charging Electricity Power Meter pile can be connected to the household electricity. However, this operation requires careful consideration of multiple factors to ensure the stability and safety of the power supply.

1. Prerequisites
Power load capacity: New energy vehicle charging piles, especially fast charging piles, have large power. Common household charging piles have power of 3.5kW and 7kW, etc. Therefore, before connecting to household electricity, it is necessary to ensure that the load capacity of the household power grid is sufficient to avoid safety hazards or equipment damage caused by overload.
Meter and line specifications: Household meters and lines need to meet the power demand of charging piles. For example, a 7kW charging pile usually requires at least 220V, 32A power input, and the household circuit and meter may need to be upgraded to meet this requirement.
Permits from property and power departments: In concentrated residential areas such as communities or apartments, the installation of charging piles usually requires permission from property and power departments. This is because the installation of charging piles may affect the overall power layout and safety management of the community.

2. Access steps and precautions
Application and approval:
The owner needs to submit an application for charging pile installation to the property or relevant department, and provide relevant materials, such as the car purchase contract, parking space ownership certificate, electricity application, etc.
The property or power department will review the application and confirm the load capacity and installation conditions of the home power grid.

Meter and line modification:
If the meter needs to be upgraded or the line needs to be modified, the owner needs to cooperate with the power company to carry out the modification work. This includes installing a new meter, increasing capacity or modifying the line, etc.

Charging pile installation:
After obtaining permission from the property and power departments, the owner can choose a suitable charging pile for installation. The installation location of the charging pile should consider factors such as convenient charging, safety and reliability.
During the installation process, ensure that the charging pile is firmly connected to the power grid, well insulated, and complies with relevant safety standards and specifications.

Use and maintenance:
When using the charging pile, the owner should abide by the operating procedures to avoid overcharging or improper use that may cause equipment damage or safety hazards.
Inspect and maintain the charging pile regularly to ensure its normal operation and safety.
