80A represents the maximum load current of the meter. The actual current exceeds 80A but less than 120% (80A) can work for a short time; working for a long time will damage the meter.
The rated current of common electric meters are 1.5 (6) A, 5 (20) A, 10 (40) A, 15 (60) A, 20 (80) A, 30 (100) A. From these values, except 100A . In addition to the meter, the rated current and maximum current of the Electric energy meters are 4 times different.
