To help residents grasp the initiative’s significance, process, and post-replacement metering details, multiple departments joined forces to host a concurrent outreach event: “Metering for the People – Electrical Metering Basics for Household Use.” Through face-to-face Q&As and attentive service, they aimed to ease concerns and strengthen public confidence in safe electricity use related to the electricity meter.
At the venue, bright red banners drew immediate attention, and the consultation desk quickly filled with curious residents. “Will the new electricity meter use more power?” “How do I transfer remaining credit to the new electricity meter?” “Will we lose power during the electricity meter replacement?” Staff from participating departments took turns addressing these top concerns, breaking down answers into simple, easy-to-follow explanations.
They displayed old and new electricity meters side by side, walking residents through the new devices’ metering principles and key improvements. “We’ll notify every household in advance,” a staff member emphasized, outlining the process. “We’ll record the old electricity meter’s final reading on-site. The swap takes just 10 minutes—power outages will be minimal, so no need to worry.”
“So that’s how it all works! I feel much better now,” said resident Uncle Li, clutching an information booklet with a smile.
